When I watched Asa walk with Makio in Journal with Witch something immediately made me think of Liz and the Blue Bird. Turns out my brain wasn't wrong!

Shots of characters walking is similar but not overly so, but listen to the music. Especially those discordant piano strikes at the edges especially.

Turns out the two share a composer, not that I'm complaining. Most #anime could only dream of being compared to one of the best film openings of all time!

Liz and the Blue Bird doesn't really add very much to Mizore's and Nozomi's story from Sound! Euphonium 2. I think the movie is fine to have on in the background, but it's not all that interesting to watch.

I think Liz and the Blue Bird would have been a better movie if it didn't include Liz or the Blue Bird. The scenes featuring those characters didn't add anything - they were just a forced parallel with Mizore and Nozomi.
