Le #Livradois est une région naturelle française située au centre du Massif central. Elle forme un ensemble humain, culturel et économique cohérent et reconnu sans pour autant constituer une entité politique spécifique (source: wikipedia)

Most descriptions I've read about European jays state say "shy birds". Where we live, in the #Auvergne, very much not the case. They are highly gregarious, groups of 5 or more regularly fighting over food, cackling and squawking, and chasing around the garden. Taken under the bird feeder here, where they have learned the trick of jumping on it to spin it, causing peanuts to be flung over the ground, where they then clean up.

Today heralded the arrival of the first #snow flurries here at home in the #Livradois-Forez, #Auvergne. We're fortunate enough to get our fair share of absolutely gob-smacking sunsets from the comfort of our living room, although I stepped outside briefly to capture this on my Xiaomi phone. Here the #sun is casting its final splash over the #Cézallier Plateau on the south-western edge of the #Puy-de-Dôme and the north-eastern border of the #Cantal.
