I have been diagnosed with colon cancer with metastasis to the liver. I am in need of a live liver donor. Top 4 criteria:
1. Be ages 18-60
2. Blood type is A+, A-, O+, or O-
3. BMI is 30 or less

World Organ Donation Day raises awareness about the importance of donating organs like kidneys, heart, liver, lungs, pancreas, and eyes to save lives. Organ donation can save up to 8 lives per donor.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀
- In 2021, 1,44,302 transplants occurred worldwide; India performed 12,259.
- Most transplants in India are kidneys (74%) and liver (23%).
- Only 4.5% of India’s transplants come from deceased donors.
- India needs many more donors to meet demand.

𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆
- First organ transplant was a kidney donated by Ronald Lee Herrick in 1954.
- India’s Organ Donation Day is August 3, marking its first deceased-donor heart transplant in 1994.

𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
- Living donors: Can donate one kidney or part of liver, pancreas, lung, or intestine.
- Deceased donors: Donate organs like heart, liver, kidneys after brain death.

- Register as an organ donor.
