So why not share some photos? Here's an album I made when I visited the now-closed Living Computer History Museum in Seattle in 2019: https://ente.unpythonic.net/?t=MYN6DBQFDS#4qZBhcBKP92eoyZYgaZcWbEq7nz7wDX5NVqtmNKDEbs8
It includes a short video of me trying to play Computer Space with one hand on the controls, for the first and only time in my life...
and a "generate fibonacci numbers" program I wrote & entered on an actual Apple 1!

The liquidation of the #LivingComputerMuseum might ruin the last chance to save more #CompuServe data for historical research.
The last 9 #SC40 servers (#PDP10 derivatives) were saved from the dumpster 10y ago¹. One was sent to the #LCM and has been in storage since afaik. Of the other 8, all but one have disappeared.
What will happen to the LCM one now? Christie's probably not interested in it? Will it finally be scrapped?
The living computer museum in Seattle has closed. So much computing history was on display. I was fortunate to visit it in 2018, to revisit many machines I owned and used at various IT jobs during my formative years in computing's infancy. Everything changes so fast.

I'm crushed at the news of the Living Computer Museum + Labs closing for good :( I held out a bit of hope it might still re-open.
It's not the same but I work to preserve the timeline of smaller computing devices over at https://handheldmuseum.org/ My dream is to one day setup and donate my collection to a non-profit and open a physical location. In the meantime, I'll keep documenting and hopefully get back to making videos.
Nice #retrocomputing read
