Le grand fan de Portishead que je suis ne pouvait pas passer à côté de la bien trop rare Beth Gibbons. Lives Outgrown, son premier album solo est une merveille, une pépite émouvante et entêtante. Ce n’est pas joyeux, mais que c’est beau et je l’écoute en boucle depuis sa sortie.
Très chaudement recommandé !
Trente ans après le premier album de Portishead, Beth Gibbons propose son premier album en solo. La chanteuse du mythique groupe britannique avait déjà sorti des albums sous son nom, dont l’excellent Out of Season au début des années 2000. Lives Outgrown est toutefois le premier qui ne porte que son nom et qui n’est pas une collaboration avec un autre artiste. L’immense fan de Portishead que je suis ne pouvait pas rater cela et je me suis précipité sur ces dix titres qui ne m’ont pas déçu, bien au contraire.

I really liked Beth's voice in Portsihead so thought I'd try her new solo album. It's really good! The progressive folk atmosphere just sucked me in! There's so much going on here.

Holy fuck, Beth Gibbons* wydaje nowy solowy album, pierwszy od ponad 20 lat (nie licząc tej płyty z Góreckim, którą z dziesięć lat temu nagrała z orkiestrą Polskiego Radia).
Album ma mieć tytuł „Lives Outgrown” i wyjdzie 17 maja. Jest już pierwszy singiel.
