Traffic is a growing problem in many U.S. cities. Instead of adding more streets to accommodate cars, a growing movement is pushing to ban them in dense areas like New York City. Every time I see a common-sense rule for using shared space, Iβm reminded of how simple it can be. We can easily work with and around one other in our shared public spaces, once you take cars out of the equation.
Cities feel more welcoming when we can walk, pause, and rest.

A lovely annual tradition. The Smag PΓ₯ Aarhus ('Taste Aarhus') campaign that literally signposts wild edibles around the city and invites us to pluck away.
City hammocks always make me smile. Rare to get a photo of them, because there's always someone swinging in one. I notice more of them around the place these days, like these ones I passed in the docklands. Hammocks in busy mid-city green spaces for locals and passers-by - nice urban planning.
The UrbanLifeCircles biodiversity initiative in Marselisborg forest. A council project that feels a bit magical. A bit ethereal. The light, the stumps, the silence, the sounds, the green.

I take it as a sign that the city centre is truly mixed-use with room for one-person and family businesses.
