Very calm and slow macro video. Armadillidium versicolor. A small terrestrial crustacean. I find them beautiful. Taken on a concrete base. I prefer natural environments, but if it weren't for the nearby river and lowland deciduous forest, there wouldn't be enough moisture in the air. And this concrete wall wouldn't be covered in moss and lichen either, and this crustacean wouldn't be living here.

When I thought I would photograph mosses, I assumed that I would find three species of mosses in the locality where they live. I later found out there were many more, but I assumed I would just identify and photograph all the species and be done with it. That's not true either. I keep finding more species. This is Homalia trichomanoides. It literally forms a fur coat you want to bury your face in. I did that, too.

Moss love concrete. And today on the way to a supervision meeting I couldn't resist taking pictures of moss covered with snow. It's great to go to meetings with so much reserve that I can stop and admire the bits of nature in the city.

Grimmia pulvinata This moss forms little pillows, that's what it's called in my language. But in the macro photos you can see its strange reproductive parts, which look like translucent green melons. Even now in winter they are beautiful, but these melons are actually only one millimeter. They are a much kind of moss, but only this one has melons 😃. You see the white hairs typical of this species.

Helmet-fungi grow even in winter. But I walked through a piece of forest before I found them on a lying tree trunk, growing out of the moss. They're only a few millimeters long, and this species is a pretty purple color. In a shaded forest, in winter, I wouldn't have taken a photo without the low sun between the trees.
