@Viss For yucks I installed it this morning and it seems to work fine? I haven't followed their doc suggestion to remove "resolve" from /etc/nsswitch.conf yet, but it looks like it' doing the thing.

And it's not spamming me with pop-ups like OpenSnitch did, just telling me what's going on. So far. ;-)

#LittleSnitch

#littlesnitch I am just wondering, why can’t you use the same method as OpenSnitch so you can capture traffic in real time like you can with Little Snitch on macOS?

Finally got around to checking out Little Snitch for Linux. It might be ~20 years since the last time ran it (Leopard! Tiger!).

Worth a look if you haven't checked it out yet.

Web interface is cool, especially for simplified look at what hosts are experiencing.

Not packaged for Solus or Alpine but the static musl binaries linked on the download page work fine.

./littlesnitch --daemon

./littlesnitch <- sends you to the default browser and loads the page on localhost:3031 IF the daemon is running

It is powerful software and I can’t deny that and maybe sales aren’t that great (or maybe that’s the going rate for download distrib software) but I’d drop $20-30 on it maybe semi-yearly but truth be told, it pissed me off more than enlightened me about what’s contacting who.

LS got to be an annoyance at some point, so I freed myself from it. #littlesnitch

I was an avid #littlesnitch user for years, but the upgrade pricing went insane at some point. I don’t know what the going rate is for the macOS version, but I’ve wiped littlesnitch from all my systems. Once you upgrade macOS you then find out your copy of LS don’t work and they want another $50 to upgrade. If it had sane pricing… maybe. But meh I’m not running anything but free software anyway. Everything phones home. 🤷‍♂️

The Linux version is free it seems, but I’ll pass. https://obdev.at/products/littlesnitch-linux/index.html
