Having to pack your whole life:

Pros- That feeling of accomplishment when everything is finally neatly packed and properly stored.

Cons- Realizing the ridiculously huge amount of useless junk and other assorted trash you have been dutifully collecting throughout your entire life, sudden panicked dashes to catch the garbage truck, tiredness, and a sudden increase in caffeine consumption.

After many years dreaming (and forever postponing) our flat remodeling, G and I finally decided to bite the bullet and go for it. I’ve been in a bit of a creative rut lately, so G tease-challenged me to document this adventure. Here’s the first part, from planning to noticing the clock is ticking and we have to pack our whole life in a week and a half before work can begin. Hope you enjoy it. 😅

The little gremlin is a bit shocked and confused. One minute he’s at his cafe, happily chatting with a patron while brewing a latte. Then, suddenly and without warning, he finds himself turned into Astro Boy’s cousin. 🤖

The little gremlin spent his last day in Mérida on some last minute sightseeing, mandatory selfies, and trying to figure how to fit a mountain of dirty laundry and souvenirs inside a tiny suitcase. 😅

A small thank you note from the little gremlin to the hotel staff for making his stay in Mérida so pleasant. Sadly, his vacations are over. Time to head back home. 😭

The little gremlin’s vacation is almost over. It’s been fun, awesome, and delicious, but also a bit exhausting. Time to rest and plan a, slightly less intense, last adventure in Mérida before heading back home.

The little gremlin had a wonderful day, with more sightseeing, history, and great food (Mérida has some awesome shawarma). He only wishes the hotel staff hadn’t adjusted his room’s air conditioning without asking him first. 🥶

On his second day of vacation, the little gremlin had to wake up extra early and take a long drive across the Yucatán peninsula, but being able to walk among the spectacular Mayan ruins of Chichén Itzá was absolutely worth it.
