"Ride Like the Wind" is the debut single by American singer-songwriter #ChristopherCross. It was released in January 1980 as the lead single from his Grammy-winning 1979 self-titled debut album. It reached number two on the US charts for four consecutive weeks, behind "#CallMe" by #Blondie. On the album's inner sleeve, Christopher Cross dedicated this song to #LowellGeorge, formerly of the band #LittleFeat, who had died in 1979.

Seems a great song for any day, supposedly special or not. Lowell and the band always embodied that perfect imperfection, in no small part down to Ritchie's beautiful drumming and grooves.

I thought I’d take a break from reviewing albums in the Rolling Stone Top 500 album list (2012 version) to post about one of my personal favorites that did not make the list.

This is an album from a band I’ve seen live a dozen times; a band in continual play in my household; an album from their best years, before the heart of the band — Lowell George — had not yet passed away, too young att 34 years old.

I’m talking about 𝘍𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘴 𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘍𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘔𝘦 𝘕𝘰𝘸 by #LittleFeat (1974). #music
