After much reflection, possibly as much as ten minutes, I have come to a settled, though possibly temporary, opinion that Swift's "The Houyhnhnms" are, in fact, a prophetic description of AI as we know it.

Consider their calm, placid spirit, their inability to say no except describe that which is not and can only retranslate nature as art rather than create from their own brains which are free from ethics.
