Brief update on my LinkAce implementation. I run darkmode with custom CSS for look and feel, and themed for PWA design. Made a few tweaks of very small things in the template code. Now updated to 2.5.3 but next version is available. This can be a multi-user account bookmark platform, imports html or csv, uses Mysql or SqlLite, and has backup export. It runs with or without Docker. I run on shared hosting. Ill do a blogpost when time permits.
Today's OYOD post: bookmarks. I was using Raindrop as its a nice app and gets the job done. But it recently added the dreaded 'Ask AI' button, placed right next to the 'Add+' button. A dark pattern of AI UID, with no way to disable, and doesnt work for free accts. So I installed LinkAce, and imported all my bookmarks + tags. It has a nice bookmarklet, good design, and runs as a tidy PWA on Android.
looking into selfhosting LinkAce as a replacement for Raindrop 👀
I have my own #LinkAce instance running now, so I'm back in the #bookmarking game without the stress that the service might go away after a few years.
