After generally avoiding learning anything about phones like a plague for many, many years, curiosity finally got the better of me.
I usually just bought the cheapest smartphone available, ran it and had a pretty miserable time.
Then I got a Samsung S20 from my wife. Still to this day the best phone hardware I ever used. The problem was that I hated the software. OneUI was terrible and had this wild feature that made it so that if I swiped left, it opened some algoritmic feed of news articles, displaying shitty clickbaity stuff all of sudden.
So I bought an iPhone SE. It was really nice. It was peaceful. No nonsense, no clickbait, everything worked the way it should, the phone mostly got out of my way.
Then stuff happened (politics, iOS 26) and I started missing Android more and more.
So today I decided to grab that S20 and flash #lineageos on it.
Works great so far. I am suprised how smooth that was.
