To answer a question in the comments for myself, I had to search for that gem. None of the reports mention a salary. He might waive his, but they are salaried positions, and can be hard work.

Whether he plays or not, Damian's presence and work ethic will benefit the team this season. I wouldn't completely rule out him playing. It would be the first time in his career that he didn't hustle to get back on the floor.

10bmnewsI'm a bit nervous about Damian Lillard playing today. He was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis on March 18th, iirc. His medical team was on it before they knew what it was, so he was already receiving therapy when it was diagnosed.
Now, as I understand it, this usually takes several months of treatment with blood thinners. His medical team thinks they caught it in advance, and he's cleared to play, so perhaps I'm nervous for naught. It's a reason to pay attention to the Bucks' game vs the Pacers, if you needed one.
