No hate to this platform or anything, I'm really enjoying it for what it is. But the initial hype and hope for the fediverse that I had when I first learned about it quickly fizzled out when I realized that nearly all of what I was seeing was just twitter clones.

It also creates some friction when two servers that are supposed to function differently come across each-other. Like I remember seeing a few days ago someone complaining about the way tumblr users seem to use tags #like-this-for-some-reason, and the reason that's happening is because that's just the way WAFRN handles the "tags" box. I cannot imagine what a post with markdown or html must look like on servers without that functionality.
