Also, I went into the gift store promising I wouldn't buy things I don't need, "only a postcard" I said, and then got sucked into this.

(All the stamps were in adjacent buildings places, and the Hansville one was actually not visitable so they just give you the stamp)

I couldn't post this before because I didn't have a good way to keep my phone charged, but.. folks, we made it to Point No Point!

Point no Point is in the Kitsap peninsula in Washington State. In addition to the unusual name, it also has a lighthouse! (I love lighthouses)

Little things like this make me happy 😊

The Lighthouse Stevensons - Bella Bathurst

‘Whenever I smell salt water, I know that I am not farm from one of the works of my ancestors. The Bell Rock stands monument for my grandfather, the Skerry Vhor for my Uncle Alan, and when the lights come out at sundown along the shores of Scotland, I am proud to think they burn […]

Say not of me that weakly I declined
The labours of my sires, and fled the sea,
The towers we founded and the lamps we lit,

“I didn’t really think through what a lighthouse keeper actually did. I was attracted by the romantic notion of sitting on a rock, writing haikus & dashing off the occasional watercolour.”

Peter Hill · Diary: From the Lighthouse

I spent the most bizarre night of my life on Hyskeir. If I mention The Birds you will immediately understand...

London Review of Books

... and here is the light from the Point No Point lighthouse. A tiny flash on the horizon. You can see the flashes in the video at 3s, and then again around 11s, at a bit less than 1/3 of the frame from left to right.

(Pardon the potato camera quality)
