New press release today about the search for life on Mars with the future Rosalind Franklin rover, with significant contributions to the paper by IMPRS alumn Manuel Reinhardt. Manuel has been pursuing similar questions since his IMPRS PhD thesis at the University of Göttingen in 2019, where he had been assessing the formation and preservation of organic signatures in extreme environments using analog environments on Earth.

While her design has changed since then to no longer so directly resemble the character she was inspired by, she has still kept the (first) name, and so I thought it would be fun to see what she would look like if she in fact did still resemble the character from the Life On Mars theme she evolved from.

hauchIch schaue gerade Life on Mars und der englische Ton und die deutschen Untertitel (deutsche Sprachausgabe entspricht dem Untertitel) passen teils wirklich nicht gut zusammen.
Z.B. wird aus einer Frage, ob jemand Besuch von einer Frau hat, ob er beim Wichsen gestört wurde.
Wer übersetzt so?
Manche Aussagen werden verändert, andere fehlen ganz.
Bei Ashes to Ashes habe ich nicht so sehr darauf geachtet, vermutlich gibt es da auch viel zu meckern.
