A friend who is moving out of the country joined me and we had a good time, chatted with folks, sold some things and ate bahn-mi from my local shop. Anecdotally: half as many POC folks as visited last year’s sale, likely due to a lot of things, health updates on one neighbor (not good) and another looking at moving abroad.

For those wondering how #LifeDuringWartime is going, the vendor who gave me the handwarmer is a young Vietnamese American man who makes journals from recycled VHS boxes and the author on the other side of me is an immigrant from India with her first book out. She informed me that Minnesotans are the BEST. Which is a helluva of a rep to try and live up to, but certainly worth striving for.
