I'm happy if I get just one drawing that I like the next day from a session so any more is a huge bonus.

Russet sepia compressed chalk on paper. That seems to be the most forgiving to me lately.
These 3 pictures are the first sketches where I feel I captured the person's likeness. The technique is horrible, all feathering and heavy overdrawing to get it down during 10 or 15 minute poses. But even though they are about a decade old I can still picture the model's face in my mind. It really helped that he had such strong distinct facial features. Soft graphite on cheap paper, found recently while decluttering.
