Schilfgras am #Lietzensee in Berlin. Lange aus der Hand belichtet. Es war naß, kalt und windig. Ich war eigentlich auf lange Bewegungsstreifen aus, aber so geht's auch.

Reed grass at Lietzensee in Berlin. Long exposure, shot without a tripod, handheld. It was wet, cold and windy. I was actually going for long streaks of movement, but it is working this way as well.

A visibly old #hybridplane #Platanus × #hispanica in #park around lake #Lietzensee in #Berlin. The tree, as a hybrid of non-native #species, harbors a #lower #biodiversity than, for example, an similar old oak tree. However, the adjacent #shorevegetation provides evidence of a #bank #biodiversity. That wasn't always the case, as the shore of the #IceAge #lake was created as a decorative park in the 19th century and is still under #historicpreservation today.

Creation of #biodiversity: the #Berlin #lake "#Lietzensee" is part of a chain of #iceage lakes. However, it is no longer directly connected to the neighboring lakes, but is "fed" exclusively by #groundwater. The result is poor #waterquality, a hostility to life that has been exacerbated by the previous open bank design. They are actually in order to improve that landscape and the water quality.
