I joined the HRCC discord yesterday. Left the same day.
I push #sigint #hacking and modern radio comms. And these folks are stuck on 50 year old Soviet red-scare idiocy with no encryption/signing, arbitrary bit limits, arbitrary narrow band limits, and high discouragement of real experimentation.
What I'm expected to do instead is call CQ (seek you, or invitation to respond) for 24 hours nonstop on some contest days for "more points".
Unfortunately, this is my experiences with hams - aka old white guys, usually pro-trumpers, sexist (women can't really do radio), and similar antiquated viewpoints.
I'll stick with #ism and #FLOSS folks pushing protocols furthering the art and science.
