Der Todeskandidat – Max Herrmann-Neiße

Voice-Zero is my newest project, providing ready to use voice clips for zero-shot text-to-speech engines, like Pocket TTS.

However, that's only the beginning: I've also been using the Chatterbox TTS engine to produce synthetic emotional variations of the same voices, in 13 different states.

My intent is to use this for future audiobooks, to provide some emotion for character voices.

The voices currently all come from LibriVox.org.

@RVLara23 @Daojoan if I can "read" a book while biking or driving a car (safely), talking a walk or doing chores - that's a superpower. Even if my comprehension isn't as good, that's still way better than not engaging with a book at all!
Sometimes I use text to speech to read me articles or papers or other written media I am researching (or just enjoying casually). And some audiobooks are just incredible works of art, bringing my beloved books to life in a very new way.

Shoutout to #LibriVox !

I'm always late to the party so happy new year everyone! ⭐️

Saw an incredible drawing by #HenryWestonKeen on #Wikicommons and decided to make a (very sketchy and messy) reproduction with #Inkscape for my first #LibriVox cover of the year. Hope it's not a bad omen 😁

Do the words "Free public domain audiobooks, read by human volunteers from around the world." excite you?

@X00001 this year was the year I really got into swing with a lot of reading. I have two top contenders:

The Frugal Wizards Guide to Surviving Medieval England by Brandon Sanderson, a gloriously goofy and incredibly well paced story of interdimensional travel

The Cosmic Computer by H Beam Piper, a brilliant sci-fi story taking place in a rich universe of history. Also has some glorious retro-futuristic tech with a 1960s perspective of what the future might look like

Each introduced me to a new author and while one book is old enough to have #Librivox recordings and the other came out just this year, each was compelling in its own ways
