Testing some #tethering close-up #photography setup, using an APS-C #DSLR camera with a 17-50 mm F/2.8 lens, a #SteamDeck and #LibreSofware #Entangle

The setup is quite bulky, but I don't have any reliable and secure way to use a single tripod for both camera and the tethering tray.

On the other hand, a single tripod means using the keyboard/mouse would transmit much more vibrations to camera

@briankrebs I'm guessing they've fallen victim to an exploit of MS Windows or other proprietary software they pay a LOT for. Bet they've got a computer science department... wonder what would happen if they engaged them & their students to build them a #LibreSofware-based tech infrastructure as part of their curriculum instead. They could use the $$ they save to provide professional development for staff & students about digital tech & secure practices. Could become a model for all of education.
