Very nice to read this: "Once all this modernization work is done, we’ll be in a good place to start adding features again." in this blog on #LibReviews:

@lib_reviews ha a free, open and not-for-profit platform for reviewing absolutely anything, in any language. Go and check it out! And leave some reviews. I've invites in case you would like to get one.

@otters_raft There is https://lib.reviews
Not federated I think.

lib.reviews - Welcome!

Uuuh, TIL that @lib_reviews officially welcomes and endorses "AI" slop.

As it relies on #LinkedData, is there maybe another project sharing schemas for location reviews I could go to instead?

lib.reviews - Review: De Patchka

I have added some reviews to #libReviews in the expectation that links will appear on #veggiekarte. In one of 4 cases it does, but it is unclear to me what is wrong with the remaining ones.

I proceeded in the same way in all cases and added the OSM node link of the reviewed location to its 'subject' links. In the case where it works, the title of the review subject was adapted to that of the #OSM dataset. Any hints appreciated.

Each review on #libReviews results in an invite token. If someone is interested in testing it as well, a ping and one invite is yours.

Exploring #HappyCow alternatives for #vegan restaurant reviews. Here's my 1st #libReviews that contains a picture (pixelfeed link):

They claim that it is possible to upload images directly, but I was not able to get it done. Is there anyone who succeeded with it?

I followed their guide, but neither the cloud icon, nor the drag and drop functionality are available. I tried it on a review page and not on a subject page, as described in this post:

lib.reviews - Review: Pfannenzauber

In preparation to use #libReviews more frequently, I finally created a #pixelfed account. Are there any recommendations for #android apps? I am only interested in open source software that is also openly distributed.

@Veronique_D To find locations, #openstreetmap contains all required information. There are different ways to make use of them, I described there how you can use it in #OsmAnd: https://chaos.social/@Cs137/112283052768786167

Reviews are more problematic, there is e.g. the multipurpose platform #libreviews, but it seems to not have many users. There's a project combining it with OSM into something I'd describe as an open HC alternate. It requires only a browser and can be found at https://www.veggiekarte.de/

Attached: 3 images Introducing another #OpenStreetMap based alternative to #HappyCow in order to find #vegan (and #vegetarian) restaurants on mobile devices via #OSMand. Available via #fDroid and the stores listed on their homepage: https://osmand.net/ The screenshots show German dialogues, but I provide an English description in the alt texts. 1/2 #OSM

For all people that like to eat vegan or vegetarian, and who also like Free and OpenSource Software, and community powered projects like #OpenStreetMap and #LibReviews and Linked Data, and who are #traveling:

Have a look at #VeggieKarte, it brings the above all together.
