Ok so, over the past two years I somehow managed to buy myself two copies of the final Expanse book and didn't read either of them; then around the start of the summer I decided to actually read it. I opened the first page, went "Who the fuck is Duarte", and realised... I was gonna have to re-read ALL the books.

What a delightful romp through memory lane it has been! It was absolutely worth rereading them all; getting to experience this world again was so wonderful. I'd forgotten so much that everything but the main beats felt fresh!

I just finished book 8, and now, I'm finally ready to read book 9.

I'll uh, start tomorrow.

It's a dark, miserable wet day... and looks like it will be for the whole day.

I think that's a good enough reason to finally get cracking on this book... I've started it twice now, and then left it so long that I forgot what I'd read already.

I think a part of me doesn't want to read it because it's the final book in the series, and I don't want it to be over. It's been a part of my life for 10yrs now.

I even rewatched the TV show again instead.

So my yearly book reads are about typical for me. Only about one per month -- since I don't read any times other than my lunch hours and in doctor's waiting rooms and ERs/Hospitals (my husband is complicated that way).
