PernillaA few years ago, my dog found leverets being attacked by magpies. One had already died and the other two were injured.
I brought them home and got in touch with a local wildlife rehabilitator. She took them in, and one of them survived- which is quite rare for rescued leverets. (Also: mother hares leave their babies alone during the day for safety. Unless a leveret is clearly injured or in immediate danger, it is best to leave them be. And you know, if you’re unsure, always call a specialist for advice first 🙂)

Yesterday I went to an author talk with Chloe Dalton. She talked about her journey raising a rescued, orphaned leveret. Listening to her was like sitting by a campfire. Safe but unexpectedly exciting. And it was about much more than 'just' a magical encounter with a wild animal.
