There's plenty of people being very angry at "non-voters" for letting the Greater Evil come to power instead of the Lesser Evil.

And ok, I definitely see where this is coming from.

But why don't they blame the candidates that failed to offer what the voters wanted?
Isn't that what the candidate's job is supposed to be?

Isn't the fact that we have such low expectations from our representatives a massive failure of our democratic system?
If your choice is between two evils, isn't THAT the core problem that needs to be addressed?

Why they blame the relatively powerless instead than the relatively powerful?

Hillary Clinton, speaking 18 years ago: "If I were president, we would attack Iran. We would be able to totally obliterate them."

The claim that Democrats represent the "lesser evil" deserves reexamination.

A quotation from Abraham Lincoln

The true rule, in determining to embrace, or reject any thing, is not whether it have any evil in it; but whether it have more of evil, than of good. There are few things wholly evil, or wholly good. Almost every thing, especially of governmental policy, is an inseparable compound of the two; so that our best judgment of the preponderance between them is continually demanded.

Speech (1848-06-20), “Internal Improvements,” US House of Representatives, Washington, D. C.

A quotation from George Orwell

We have become too civilised to grasp the obvious. For the truth is very simple. To survive you often have to fight, and to fight you have to dirty yourself. War is evil, and it is often the lesser evil. Those who take the sword perish by the sword, and those who don’t take the sword perish by smelly diseases.

True, they aren't the same.
One interesting difference for example: if Harris were President, the US would be funding both food trucks to help Gaza, and the bombs used to blow up those trucks.

A quotation from Hannah Arendt

Moreover, if we look at the techniques of totalitarian government, it is obvious that the argument of “the lesser evil” — far from being raised only from the outside by those who do not belong to the ruling elite — is one of the mechanisms built into the machinery of terror and criminality. Acceptance of lesser evils is consciously used in conditioning the government officials as well

Hannah Arendt (1906-1975) German-American philosopher, political theorist
