Today, I went to see #LesbianSpacePrincess again at the cinema proper and I still think it's awesome! Indie animated films on the big screen are always something special, and this one is so good in every way, I love it.

I have to agree with this. Been there yesterday with my handball team, and we all ... weren't exactly nonplussed.

Some good gags, but most jokes fell rather flat or problematic. The trans representation is virtually limited to an evil poc drag queen (yes, drag isn't the same as trans, but in the movie this is the closest we get to trans rep...) who has a bar "outside of the queer zone" and lures the hero there through an online forum... . The afab enby is pretty much coded as a slightly more masc Lesbian. And the men were toxic and annoying because they love talking about DnD+Magic, because, sure, that's the problem. Oh, and penis = bad, clit etc. = good.

It relies heavily on stereotypes but instead of breaking them or dealing with them in fun ways, it reduces the characters to those stereotypes, making everything rather one-dimensional.

Deepest gag was where they play on the male gaze in the movie Blue Is The Warmest Color. But not worth the rest.

Good thing is that the best scene – the writers introducing themselves and awkwardly not-kissing – is directly at the beginning and you can quit afterwards.

Went to see Lesbian Space Princess with the wife. 🥰 Very spacey, queer and with lots of psychedelic elements. Also pretty funny and gimmicky, the art fit perfectly. I really enjoyed it!

Just came back from the cinema and "lesbian space princess" was wild. It was hilariously funny and there were so many small details in all the scenes it was like queer hidden object game the movie.

edit: also my age might show here but the soundtrack . I really need the soundtrack
