The ruined Campsie High Kirk: walls & clock tower still standing, but the interior & roof destroyed back in 1984 in a fire

Some talk of it being restored for use as a community hub, but several years on from such talk I haven't seen much happening yet.

The hospital was closed in 2002 and the empty castle was destroyed by a fire in 2008, leaving nothing but a derelict shell.

The ruins of the A-Listed Lennox Castle, just to the north of Glasgow. Designed by David Hamilton in a Norman Castle style, it was built in the 1830s for John Lennox Kincaid.

In 1927, the estate was purchased by the Glasgow Corporation and turned into a residential hospital for people with learning disabilities, with the castle itself being used as the nurses' home.

A stroll through the old boneyard by the ruined Kirk at Lennoxtown this afternoon, the clocks of the front tower now forever stopped at the same time.

Low, winter sun creating a halo around an old, carved Celtic cross, in the bone orchard of the now-ruined Lennoxtown High Kirk.

The ruin of Campsie High Kirk in Lennoxtown. The church was destroyed by a fire in 1984, while the clock is restored and the cemetery is well taken care of. First visited there back in 2012 to pay respect to a missionary's grave. He went to Taiwan in 1895. A serene, beautiful place with some lovely wild rabbits and Campsie Hills just at the back of the church. Photo taken on 30th August 2017.
