I am appealing to the vast collective knowledge of Mastodon - Lemon Tree advice

I have a little lemon tree in a large pot on my roof. I have noticed that little branches with leaves are sprouting all the way up the central trunk.

Is this okay - should I cut them away?

Warmer weather means it's time for one of my favourite "Oh shit, I need to prepare dinner" recipes: pasta with desalted capers, lemon zest and a good olive oil!

(While the pasta cooks, you chop the capers and lemon zest, then you mix everything together and serve. Really simple and delicious 🙃 Might be the fastest home cooked meal there is, any other suggestions?)

(Mentre la pasta cuoce, triti i capperi e la scorza, poi mescoli tutto insieme ed e' pronta! È estremamente semplice e buonissimo 🙃 Potrebbe essere il pasto più rapido da preparare da zero a casa, avete altri suggerimenti?)

Nice do at the plot; tidied up a bit the greenhouse and moved a bit a section of drain pipe, inside it, because it leaks; so instead of repairing the leak, placed the pipe under it at a slight angle so as to direct the leak to a water butt. works perfectly - when it rains.

Also donated a grape to a new pair of plotters, their plot floods as well as mine, they know but have not seen it yet. And a pair of cauliflowers in exchange for a courgette, planted today.

While at it and after watching a utube video, about the Maya technique of growing stuff, got two bags of charcoal and did four pots - two large two small - using said material + ground, two large for tomatoes two smaller for chillies. Let's see it how it goes.

Also, using a section of clay pipe, re-potted the lemon tree using the same material, looks better might work better. No idea what sort of pipe it is, never seen one before.

Had a chat with various plotters, then sat under the blackthorn tree and had a break.
