Historical #cdrama that are more realistic or include interesting multicultural features:
#WinterBegonia - 1930s, transitioning to western-influenced era, theatre, architecture, trade, transport, commerce
#TheStoryOfMingLan - includes canal culture and class differences
#LegendOfTheMagnate - story tours around different geographical and cultural areas
#TheLongBallad - warring factions, war tactics, different geo and cultural areas
#ThisThrivingLand - China on the cusp of revolution

@AnnaAnthro apparently that "tell the whole story" thing with #cDrama opening credits was a statutory requirement. It must only apply to some types of Dramas though, because #LegendOfTheMagnate doesn't have that type of opening

Day 22: Character

Picking A favourite character is absurdly impossible so here are 5 leads

#kDrama Go Eun Chan #CoffeePrince
#jDrama Moriyama Mikuri #NigeruWaHaji
#cDrama 2= Zhong Qing Cheng #DearEnemy Chang Yu'Er #LegendOfTheMagnate
#twDrama Li Da Ren #inTimeWithYou

All real faves, memorable and in many cases now iconoic.

And now the Mastodon-only bonus

#CDrama #TaleOfRose a truly memorable support character with an awesome arc

5 eps too long, but other than that, #cDrama #LegendOfTheMagnate was great.
Set at the beginning of the end for the Qing dynasty, it was an interesting period of history that allowed the state propaganda to be a natural fit and t not overwhelm the storytelling.
T he undoubted highlight were the strong, independent women who chose their own destiny & took action to accomplish it. Both the the FL & 2FL had the ability and determination to act toward getting what they wanted
As euphemistic understatements go, summing up a conflict that took 20 million lives in this one line pretty much takes the cake
#cDrama #LegendOfTheMagnate

@ronsboy67 This is one of my favorite scenes, Chang Yuer to the rescue! And what she says to him when he asks why she's there, priceless.

#LegendOfTheMagnate #cDrama

Watching #cDrama #LegendofTheMagnate is taking longer than normal because I'm watching much of it on my TV. Many episodes feature stunning landscape cinematography, and then there's this scene. An awesome "OTP reunion" setup, "Warrior Princess saves her man". Great visuals, great to see. In #kDrama the example it reminded me of was #King2Hearts where Ha Ji Won's character single-handedly rescued Lee Seung-Gi's hapless royal
8/40 in #cDrama #LegendOfTheMagnate and really loving it so far. A business-focused historical with interesting characters and depictions of the China of the time.Having just read a book about how the British stole tea, this line resonated with me
