I will NOT click on headlines like this. This is the very definition of click-bait: "If you want to know whether this story affects you, you have to click on it first."

A proper headline would put the name of the affected city/state/county/etc as the FIRST WORD of the headline.

Never mind that the same headline appears in all #LeeEnterprises papers (at least all I've checked so far, including #LaCrosseTribune, #WisStateJournal, and #ChippewaHerald

This is NOT a sign of a reliable newspaper.

I pay $1/month for the Buffalo News. They’re raising it to $14.99. I know running a newsroom is expensive, but when Lee Enterprises (the owners) laid off staff and moved the printing operation to Ohio, I’m not going to continue my subscription

Here’s how Lee Enterprises and the Quad City Times underplayed their coverage of the NY v. Trump trial. This is from yesterday. It could be any trial in any court. Not how one covers a completely unprecedented felonious scandal involving a former President. #mediafail #trumptrial #journalism #leeenterprises #quadcitytimes #underplayedandunderreported
Intrusive ads should not be part of a news website, especially when one has paid for a subscription. Shame on you, #wisconsinstatejournal and #leeenterprises.

A data point in the death spiral of local news: #LaCrosseTribune said "we won't let you read this unless you turn off your ad blocker." So I turned it off and read the news. That worked for... a year, maybe?

Now they won't let me read anything, even with the ad blocker disabled. "Only if you pay." But why should I pay when 95%+ of the "content" comes from the mother ship in Madison.
