Spielfilm Frankreich/Italien 1988 (Le grand bleu) Die beiden Apnoetaucher Jacques (Jean-Marc Barr) und Enzo (Jean Reno), die sich ohne Druckluftflasche selbst in gefährlichste Wassertiefen wagen, kennen sich seit Kindheitstagen. Während der verschlossene Jacques für sich nach Herausforderungen sucht und das Schwimmen mit Delfinen liebt, nutzt der extrovertierte Enzo seine Passion für eine einzigartige Sportkarriere. Auf der Höhe seines Ruhms möchte sich der vielfache Weltmeister mit dem einzigen Rivalen messen, der ihn noch zu bisher unvorstellbaren Spitzenleistungen treiben kann. Als Enzo seinen Kindheitsfreund nach Sizilien einlädt, nimmt dieser die Herausforderung an. Auch nach dem Wettbewerb geht die besessene Rekordjagd weiter.
