Agi: La bandiera Usa torna a sventolare in Venezuela dopo 7 anni

AGI - La bandiera degli Stati Uniti è stata issata oggi alla sede dell'Ambasciata in Venezuela per la prima volta in sette anni. "È iniziata una nuova era. Restiamo al fianco del Venezuela", ha scritto l'incaricata d'affari statunitense Laura Dogu, la più alta carica diplomatica dell'ambasciata, in un post su X, accompagnato da una foto della bandiera americana che sventola alla sede di Caracas.
Dogu ha sottolineato che con il suo team la bandiera è stata nuovamente collocata "esattamente sette anni dopo la sua rimozione", il 14 marzo 2019, due mesi dopo che Caracas aveva interrotto le relazioni diplomatiche a seguito del rifiuto di Washington di riconoscere la rielezione del presidente Nicolas Maduro, viziata da irregolarità, nel 2018.
Il disgelo e le sanzioni
Ieri, Rodriguez ha esortato Trump a revocare completamente le sanzioni imposte al suo paese. All'inizio del mese, Stati Uniti e Venezuela hanno ristabilito le relazioni diplomatiche, in un rapido disgelo dopo il raid delle forze speciali statunitensi a gennaio, che ha causato circa 100 morti e ha portato all'estradizione di Maduro e di sua moglie a New York, processati con l'accusa di traffico di droga.
