Israel Hacked Traffic Cameras in Iran - Schneier on Security

Multiple news outlets are reporting on Israel’s hacking of Iranian traffic cameras and how they assisted with the killing of that country’s leadership. The New York Times has an <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/01/us/politics/cia-israel-ayatollah-compound.html"<article on the intelligence operation more generally.

Here’s the latest #laundryverse #diorama featuring characters from @cstross ‘s brilliant novels. Persephone Hazard and Iris Carpenter are again leading a team of Sandy Wilson, Peter Wilson, Jonquil Carpenter and assorted Elves. First they ride out in an M966 missile carrier in Elvish markings…

@foone

I think this is the plot line for the first book in a series in the Expanded Laundryverse...

#laundryverse #haunted

Here's my latest #laundryverse diorama - science fiction writer @cstross series of urban fantasy books, named after "The Laundry", a version of Mi5 which deals with the occult and eldritch horrors from beyond space time. This one is called "Emissaries of BLUE HADES".

The Deep Ones, AKA BLUE HADES, are taking an interest in what is happening on the earth’s surface as the stars align and have despatched some specialists to discuss options before they destroy all land based life.

In Auld Reekie to pick up a copy of the latest Laundryverse novel by @cstross from Transreal Fiction. It would be rude to not pop into the Guildford Arms for lunch...

This sounds like a headline that a Londoner of the #laundryverse would just ho-hum to and move on to the stock market news. 🤷‍♂️ I'm sure @cstross has toyed with the idea (or something close to it) in his worldbuilding (the white violin aside).

The Hard Times

Here is another #laundryverse #scalemodel #diorama, this time featuring many of our favourite female characters from @cstross’ Laundry Files and New Management urban fantasy series. The diorama is called “Regrouping on the Ghost Roads” and shows the characters parked up and taking a break in an abandoned temple while conducting a mission on the Ghost roads: inter-dimensional passages which tend to create pocket universes.

Aisle 282, Shelf 4, Object C1:5B:EA:D0:A9:F3 A wide, shallow bowl filled with mercury. Your reflection seems ordinary, but staring over your left (or is that right?) shoulder is John Dee. When you try to move on, he grabs your wrist and you find yourself unable to look away.

I’ve done another #laundryverse model diorama, this time with Pinky and the Brain. Our queer heroes in @cstross’s epic series have been despatched to deal with an incursion by what is presumed to be a Lovercraftian horror, but which turns out to be a pansexual, hypergendered deity. The Nazi Abwehr’s paranormal intelligence force sought to exploit it in world war 2.
