Anyone other #trans folks here a fan of #LateNightAlumni?
Every time I listen to "Shine", I can't help but hear the lyrics through a trans lens, even though I know that's not what the song is about.
It always sounds to me like someone being afraid:
β’ to admit to themselves that they were trans
β’ of what would happen to themselves if they did
& that, all this time, they could have walked away from their old, pre-transition identity & survived.
@iamada I hate that I feel jealous that others seemingly find transition so much easier than I do, particularly when it comes to things like:
β’ Clothing / fashion / accessories.
β’ Voice modulation.
β’ Access to care.
It feels like this Late Night Alumni song (It's Not Happening) to me:
I kinda liked doing this yesterday, so here are another #7AlbumsToKnowMe π§
