I asked this once before, but does anyone out there have a laser printer that can accept things like Avery labels? I need a few stickers made.

Mashable: HP announces a security flaw (and fix) for many laser printers. โHP published a security update on its website confirming that there are three separate security flaws affecting several models of laser printers. According to HP, certain LaserJet printers โmay potentially be vulnerable to Remote Code Execution and Elevation of Privilege when processing a PostScript print job.'โ

I've worked in offices where I had to deal with photocopying machines and toners. I'm not a fan of toners. And they're not cheap. I also don't want to add to my list of health concerns. ๐
"#LaserPrinters use toner, which is a microscopic powder* containing plastics*, colorants, and other chemicals. These particles can become airborne* and contribute to indoor* air pollution*. Breathing in toner particles can be a concern..."

Just black? Color is good to have, me thinks. ๐ค
I did some reading and seems to me #inkjet is more practical for home* use (for my purpose) -- i.e. only a few prints now and then. I've read too that it's better for #photo printing -- not vital since I don't need fancy equipment but I'd like it to be a good all-around* #printer. Also, I see that #LaserPrinters that can scan/copy are huuuge! ๐
We do have #Brother here. ๐๐

Yeah, definitely stay away from ink spitters. They just don't provide good value compared to laser printers.
I once bought a perfectly acceptable brand new small laser printer for $50. To me, that was when the laser printer market hit it's peak.
That was a Samsung, and I had bought a few other Samsung laser printers (some introduced at $400 and dropped to $180). Unfortunately for consumers, HP bought Samsung's printer division and turned it into crap.
The last printer I considered buying was a Fuji-Xerox. That was for an employer that had an $800 all-in-one that was reaching end-of-life. For $3000, I could have assembled a unit that would have allowed the company to bring its outsourced document production in house and add OCR capability to scan hardcopy archives that were piling up. (They instead spent more to lease an older machine that took up more of the already-cramped office.)
I tried to setup a #cups #raspberrypi #homeserver to serve my #canon #laserprinters for easy discoverability, as well as simplifying driver installation.
Unfortunately, while the #colorprinter has an #arm driver for #linux , the #blackandwhiteprinter doesn't.
For now, I setup an #lxd #vm on my #intelnuc to act as the #printserver instead, and it works perfectly.
I'd like to also emulate #amd64 on #qemu on #raspi for directly serving cups from an #amd64 #VM from #raspi .

Is there anyone out here who has a working framework for
for "directly" controlling single printing dots?
