🪷 #Antinous died in the Nile in October of 130 AD. Priests of Antinous commemorate his death on 28 Oct. But many scholars cite 22 Oct, 23 Oct, 24 Oct or 30 Oct as the probable date when he "plunged into the Nile" (#Hadrian's words). An inscription at #Lanuvium gives 27 Nov as his birthday (probably in 111 AD). It is historically documented fact that #Antinoos truly lived. He is not a myth or a legend.
