@Starcade Not many people have #LandlinePhones anymore.

I had one (in case of emergencies) but dropped it after #ATT kept raising the cost for the line & threatened to cancel it BECAUSE I never used it. 🤷‍♂️

Bought a simple corded landline phone as a backup, am loving the feeling of answering by lifting, then hanging up by just putting the phone down. There's a wonderfully simple physicality to this that is missing from mobiles (except maybe flip phones?).

Plus apparently landlines keep going even in a power cut because their power requirements are low enough to work on just the current in the phone line itself.

I've said before that I have this soft spot for landline phones. Shared the iDect Eclipse recently, one of the last gasp "designer" dect phones (iDect being a funky rebrand of Binatone who did make an authentic bluetooth mock brick phone pastiche circa 10 years ago) which was largely inspired by this: The BT Genie. very 80's matey.

Genie telephone

A British Telecom Genie model TSR 8022A push button telephone from the 1980s. This telephone with its moulded hand set forming an oval shape is cream with a gold coloured plate surrounding the white buttons. It was manufactured for British Telecom in the UK by A.P. Besson, and was introduced to the UK market around 1983. The Genie boudoir telephone was the first to use an electronic ringer.
