Welcome to th 9th and last regular wednesday #Shelter-Update...
About an impressive video, a call for help, and a childrens biketour to the north sea coast.
The "Shelter-Challenge" in february and march is coming to an end: Until the end of march i like to find a place for the public shelter construction site for my masters project "Common Shelter" that started yesterday. I will announce further actual informations und dates prominent on the website and in the fediverse.
An impressive video from Bargum in Schleswig-Holstein shows that my initiative is not utopic: It is possible to build a public shelter space in cooperation with a german communal authority. The rural youth organisation of a very little village with about 630 inhabitants in northern frisia did it in 72 hours! Please help to make it possible in "Ostwestfalen-Lippe", "Münsterland" oder "Osnabrücker Land"; in "Nordrhein-Westfalen" und "Niedersachsen", too! https://www.ndr.de/fernsehen/sendungen/schleswig-holstein_magazin/landjugend-packt-an-72-stunden-aktion-in-bargum,shmag-2966.html (in german)
I am still searching a communal authority, city oder a private projectplace to invest my worktime as a gift to create a public shelter place together. We will not do it in 72 hours. We have 1 or 2 months time (and it really should be possible to create 1-2 shelters, otherwise the youth of Bargum will laugh about us)! Please share this information with people who have a heart for tourism like in scandinavia. Our regions should give people the possibility to see nature, cities and rural areas from new perspectives, while travelling by bike by foot, or with a canoe.
I will continue to contact initatives, tourism offices, communal authorities... and hope to soon tell you more about the public shelter construction site starting in may 2026. You may also contact me if you have questions or important informations for me. I got the Link to the Bargum video from a person I studied with.
Last but not least, there is a nice cinema event in Bielefeld:
>>
On saturday, march 28, at 13:00 it's the premiere of "Ab ans Meer, Digga!" in the cinema "Lichtwerk".
The film documents the journey of 6 kids and young people who travelled 221 km from Bielefeld to the North Sea Coast by bike last summer 🚲
"Ab ans Meer, Digga" is an honest and touching film that empowers to take heart and to think new about participation and about letting children decide.
free entry :)
if you want to be there please send a mail to [email protected]
