Un passaparola rapido sui social ha acceso la mobilitazione: a Palermo, nel cuore di piazza Politeama, centinaia di cittadini si sono ritrovati ieri pomeriggio per festeggiare la vittoria del No al referendum sulla giustizia. Tra bandiere del Partito Democratico, della CGIL, dell’ANPI e del Movimento 5 Stelle, la piazza si è trasformata in un simbolo di partecipazione civica e rivendicazione democratica.
A fare da richiamo alla manifestazione, una locandina diffusa online con un celebre verso della Divina Commedia: “E poi uscimmo a riveder le stelle”, diventato slogan della giornata.
Stravince il No in Sicilia, il 60,9% dell’elettorato si è espresso contro la riforma della giustizia, alle spalle solo della Campania. Nella città di Palermo la percentuale dei contrari si attesta al 68,94%, il secondo dato più alto tra i capoluoghi italiani, in testa Napoli col 75,49%.
Gli elettori chiamati al voto sono stati 3.860.499, ma l’affluenza è risultata del 46,14%, la più bassa del Paese: alle regionali del 2022 si recò alle urne il 48,81% degli aventi diritto. Il comune di Lampedusa e Linosa è quello con l’affluenza minore, appena il 26,93%: qui ha vinto il Sì col 57,66%

Word-of-mouth on social media sparked mobilization: in Palermo, in the heart of Piazza Politeama, hundreds of citizens gathered yesterday afternoon to celebrate the victory of No in the referendum on justice. Amidst flags of the Democratic Party, the CGIL (Italian General Labour Union), the ANPI (Italian National Fascist Party), and the Five Star Movement, the square transformed into a symbol of civic participation and democratic demand.

A poster widely circulated online, featuring a famous verse from *The Divine Comedy*, served as the call to the demonstration: “And then we emerged to see the stars again,” becoming the slogan of the day.

No overwhelmingly wins in Sicily, with 60.9% of voters expressing opposition to the justice reform, second only to Campania. In Palermo, the percentage of opponents reached 68.94%, the second highest figure among Italian capitals, topped by Naples at 75.49%.

Three million eight hundred sixty thousand four hundred ninety-nine voters were called to the polls, but turnout was 46.14%, the lowest in the country: at the 2022 regional elections, 48.81% of eligible voters cast their ballots. The comune of Lampedusa and Linosa had the lowest turnout, just 26.93%: here, Yes won with 57.66%.

Sorge um russisches „Geisterschiff“ vor Malta

Im #Mittelmeer treibt seit zwei Wochen ein russisches Tankschiff in den Gewässern zwischen #Malta, #Italien und #Libyen, manövrierunfähig und ohne Besatzung. Die #ArcticMetagaz ist mit rund 700 Tonnen #Öl und #Erdgas nicht nur eine Gefahr für andere Schiffe. Malta ersuchte am Dienstag um internationale Hilfe. #Russland wirft der #Ukraine einen Angriff auf das Schiff vor und sieht sich aktuell nicht zuständig.
Zuletzt war das Schiff in Richtung der italienischen Insel #Lampedusa getrieben, aus Italien hieß es dazu, es werde von der Marine und einem Schlepper eskortiert. Nun treibt es auf Malta zu, abhängig von Windrichtung und Meeresströmung. An Bord der 277 Meter langen und 73 Meter breiten „Arctic Metagaz“ war es am 2. März etwa 240 Kilometer vor der Küste Libyens bzw. der Hafenstadt Sirte zu mehreren Explosionen gekommen.

Il Tempo: Rumori forti, gas, inclinazione crescente e fuochi: si rischia la bomba ambientali davanti alla Sicilia

Il ministero degli Esteri russo lancia l'allarme sulla petroliera della flotta fantasma alla deriva tra Malta e Lampedusa. "La nave ha subito gravi danni: a bordo si sentono forti rumori, si segnalano emissioni di gas, la nave si sta inclinando più rapidamente e sono stati avvistati incendi localizzati", ha dichiarato in un comunicato la portavoce del ministero degli Esteri russo, Maria Zakharova. La Arctic Metagaz, lunga 277 metri, ha a bordo 700 tonnellate di carburante e dal 3 marzo, quando fu raggiunta da droni ucraini, è alla deriva senza equipaggio. "Al momento dell'abbandono della nave, nelle sue cisterne erano ancora presenti carburante - 450 tonnellate di combustibile pesante e 250 tonnellate di gasolio - oltre a una quantità significativa di gas naturale", ha aggiunto la funzionaria.

Della petroliera ne ha parlato anche il sottosegretario alla presidenza del Consiglio, Alfredo Mantovano, ai microfoni di Radio 24: "I rischi sono enormi, ci si trova di fronte a una bomba ambientale. Questa imbarcazione è priva di equipaggio e non ci si può avvicinare, può esplodere da un momento all'altro. Se le autorità maltesi o l'Europa ce lo chiedessero, saremmo pronti a intervenire nel giro di pochissimo. Condividiamo il monitoraggio con Malta in tempo reale".

The Russian Foreign Ministry is raising the alarm about the oiler of the phantom fleet drifting between Malta and Lampedusa. “The ship has sustained serious damage: strong noises are heard on board, gas emissions are reported, the ship is tilting more rapidly, and localized fires have been spotted,” declared the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, in a statement. The Arctic Metagaz, which is 277 meters long, is carrying 700 tons of fuel and, since March 3rd, when it was reached by Ukrainian drones, has been adrift without a crew. “At the time of the ship’s abandonment, fuel was still present in its tanks – 450 tons of heavy fuel and 250 tons of diesel – as well as a significant quantity of natural gas,” the official added.

The oiler was also discussed by Deputy Prime Minister Alfredo Mantovano of the Council of Ministers on the microphones of Radio 24: “The risks are enormous, we are facing an environmental bomb. This vessel is without a crew and we cannot approach it; it could explode at any moment. If the Maltese authorities or Europe asked us, we would be ready to intervene within a very short time. We share real-time monitoring with Malta.”

Anche quest’anno si aprono nuove opportunità per i giovani delle isole di Lampedusa e Linosa che desiderano mettersi al servizio della comunità. Il comitato locale della Croce Rossa Italiana parteciperà infatti, per il secondo anno consecutivo, al programma del Servizio Civile Universale, grazie al finanziamento della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri.
Complessivamente saranno disponibili 15 posti per giovani volontari che potranno impegnarsi per dodici mesi nelle attività della Croce Rossa sul territorio, contribuendo al supporto dei servizi sanitari e sociali nelle due isole.

The local committee of the Italian Red Cross will participate, for the second consecutive year, in the National Civil Service program, thanks to funding from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

A total of 15 places will be available for young volunteers who can commit for twelve months to the Red Cross activities on the territory, contributing to the support of healthcare and social services in the two islands.
