All evacuation levels will be dropped at 7 p.m. tonight (07/31/25) after the last crews leave the fire. Those crews are finishing some line work and doing a lot of repair.

The incident management team on the fire will be transferring the operations back to the local units at 7pm today. DNR will take on the duty of a "heavy patrol" status. That is, keeping units around the fire for several days as opposed to sending in a truck to occasionally check on the fire's perimeter.

The fire itself is expected to show interior heat and even smoke with some fire activity. This is normal for a large fire footprint.

Next Wednesday, 08/06/25, there will be a Town Hall meeting focusing on those needing recovery help. There will be a Q&A with all parties involved. The primary agencies at the town hall will be the DNR (forestry side), Stevens County Emergency Management, Fire District 1, and the Stevens County Conservation District. These are subject to change and a flyer will be out soon.
