Today's stop for a crepe and coffee after a 4.5 mile walk around #LakeJunaluska in #WNC. It started off quite cold, windy and overcast, and at the end of the hour and a half amble, the sun was trying to break through, and it was very pleasant.

The morning kept most of the people away, so that was a plus.

A couple of black and white photos.

Favorite picture of the day, still at #LakeJunaluska

Another decaying tree has fallen long ago into the lake. The base and trunk are mostly up in the air right at the bank, with a few small limbs poking up through the ice and one long, scraggly branch gnarling its way through the air at the center of the picture.

Again, this is solid ice and not long-exposure water, which is weird.

The sun came out for a couple of minutes, and this very odd branch threw an even stranger shadow down on the ice so the b&w image looks just a bit like something out of Edward Scissorhands, or a monster trying to claw it's way out of the lake.

A longish flat walk at a frozen #LakeJunaluska in #Haywood County today. Level, warmer, but cold with the wind off the ice. A bit of sun to start.

Spent so long in FL that I still laugh out loud at frozen water not in drinks...

Today was a #walk rather than a #hike around #LakeJunaluska in the mountains of #WNC. About 50F and sun, it was gorgeous.

Two brave kayakers were out on the lake, along with countless dog walkers on the path. We ended up at the #CoffeeCupCafe in #Clyde for a latte, sitting on their deck.

#LakeJunaluska in #WNC #US.

A beautiful cooler June day here, right before the rains switch off and the heat cranks up.

A pair of #swans were staying close, hoping for a handout which did not come.

Another #flatcolorillustration based on my pics from #lakejunaluska during summer. I’m having so much fun with this. I love flat color illustrations and simple shapes. The abstraction of it all captivates me. #minimalisticillustration #almahoffmannillustrations #almahoffmanndrawings #almahoffmann
