Been out this morning canvassing voters in #Ladywell with the #GreenNewDealRising folks, good to be out in the community spreading a message of hope on this sunny spring day.

Now off to do some #TRE which is my latest effort to address my own underlying tension issues

#WellingboroughEcoGroup Community Allotment

Wellingborough Eco Group have taken on a plot at #Ladywell allotments in #WellingboroughUK, to give people the chance to share skills and to grow plants. The site was cleared and is now a user-friendly space to grow fruit, vegetables and other plants to benefit the community.

"Good afternoon from our Community Allotment!

A lovely sunny day at our Community Allotment, joined by Eileen, Ian and Jonathan at this Wednesday's Working Party.

Eileen, Jonathan and Ian cut back more budleijas and laid a dead hedge in our nature garden, plus Ian prepared the base for a greenhouse.

But of course there's plenty more to do, do join our community also for more fixing, weeding and tidying next Wednesday (March 4, 2026), 10-2 at Ladywell Allotments. Come and grow with us!"

Family Department sign on the Ladywell Bar on Duke Street in the East End of Glasgow. Dating from a time when women weren't widely welcome in pubs, the Family Department was where they could buy alcohol for comsumption at home.

The Lady Well in the East End of Glasgow. This is the last of the city's ancient holy wells whose origins date back hundreds, and possibly even thousands, of years. It was capped in the 1840s after fears that bodies buried in the nearby Necropolis could contaminate it.
