“Ladybug Ladybug” (1963) is based on an article that Eleanor and Frank Perry read about a Californian elementary school that had a similar incident happen during a drill. Only the school was quickly able to find out that their alarm had malfunctioned and they were able to get the kids back to the school. The Perrys decided to let the story play out if the school hadn’t been able to get the correct information

Most of the cast of “Ladybug, Ladybug” (1963) were children who had little to no acting experience. It also featured the film debuts of William Daniels (as Mr. Calkins), Jane Connell (as Mrs. Maxton) and Estelle Parsons (as Joann’s mother)
