I rode #Waymo a lot during the 2024 fires in Los Angeles. I'm sorry this is not the negative #AI vibe of #mastodon, but it is really good, really smart, defensive and conservative, very safe. California #DMV reports on Waymo accidents are overwhelming, Waymo incidents are dominantly the fault of other human drivers. This is where AI wins, and now the increasing ridership is here. #Google is coming for #Uber and #Lyft. Looking forward to it coming to San Diego.

I just think if you pick me up from the bar and my two stops on the way home are the dispensary to buy drugs and the 7-11 to buy lottery tickets and you don't say anything, there should be a Lyft bonus tip category for "doesn't judge."
Lyft has a promotion whereby they discount your ride and a friend's ride (their first) within 2 weeks of referring them, up to $10 each. I was hoping for a free ride for each when I glanced at the email, but okay.
The ride-sharing company Lyft will ensure the rights of blind and other disabled passengers across the country to travel with their service animals under a settlement announced in Minnesota on Wednesday.

Lyft has agreed to protect the rights of blind and disabled riders to travel with service animals under a Minnesota settlement that applies nationwide. State officials have announced the deal Wednesday in the case of a college student who said that drivers repeatedly refused to let her service dog ride along. The Minnesota Department of Human Rights says Lyft now has to train drivers on disability rights and warn them they can lose access to the platform. The Lyft app will add stronger accessibility settings and reporting tools. The state will monitor compliance for three years. The rider will receive $63,000.
