평양
Merci !

Useless quote for 26 September:
"rebellion rushing down the wrong road,
storm blowing down the wrong tree."
~ Linton Kwesi Johnson, "Five Nights of Bleeding" from "Dread Beat and Blood" (1975)

🇯🇲 Linton Kwesi Johnson "Want Fi Goh Rave" - Generic cover – 1981
Dub poetry at its sharpest merging heavy basslines and echoing rhythms with politically charged words that cut through with intensity and purpose...

Today in Labor History August 24, 1952: Linton Kwesi Johnson was born. LKJ is a Jamaican dub poet and activist, based in the UK since 1963. In 2002 he became the second living poet, and the only black poet, to be published in the Penguin Modern Classics series. In 1963 he and his father came to live in Brixton, London, joining his mother, who had immigrated there shortly before Jamaican independence in 1962. While a youth, LKJ joined the British Black Panther Movement, helped to organize a poetry workshop within the movement, and developed his work with Rasta Love, a group of poets and drummers. Most of his music and poetry is political, addressing issues of racism, police brutality, and immigration in the UK, as well as capitalism
