And here's a bunch of quick sketches from various speakers at LGM. Good drawing practice when people basically stand in the same spot for 5-20 minutes. #libregraphicsmeeting #lgm26 #lgm

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who made LGM 2026 in Nuremberg such a success! It was incredible to see the community thriving.

Check out the group photo on our site and catch up on any talks you missed—recordings are now linked in the program!

I discovered PixiEditor at #LGM26. To get more familiar with it, I rewrote the GIMP tutorial for the Chrome Ball with PixiEditor. The workflow is completely different. I even ported the #GEGL panorama projection filter from @pippin to a Skia shader to achieve my goal.

@jwildeboer There was a nice talk from @eylul at the #LGM26 about a very similar question: "The elephant in the room: who owns the image?"

@lgm Note that I have updated the description with a link to the OpenSCAD/STL files for the #lgm26-badge case here: https://www.home.unix-ag.org/simon/files/lgmbox.zip .

I have slightly widened the hole for the magnet, but it still is a tight fit, at least with the tolerances of my printer.

Have fun!

I discovered two programs at #LGM2026 that I hadn’t heard of before. They’re so exciting that I’ll probably spend more time with them in future. They are #TiXL and #PixiEditor. Unfortunately, neither of them is available on here — or maybe I just haven’t found them yet. Perhaps someone here could help me find the right accounts?

360° Map of the Nuremberg Area from 1581

I originally planned to publish this blog post during the #LGM26 in #Nurnberg Sadly, however, the image from the museum's object catalogue is under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, so I was not allowed to use it to create a VR panorama. Fortunately, however, the museum has given me permission today to use it under a CC0 1.0 license.

If you're into creative work and #opensource you might want to check out MABarbe's talk on "The State of #LibreGraphics" from this week's @lgm. It summarizes recent developments of large projects like @GIMP, @Krita, @kdenlive or @inkscape, but also references more specialized initiatives like @penpot, #Hyper8, #Pexieditor, #Tixl, @friction or @Coollab. The #LGM26 site has a list of the mentioned projects, available via https://libregraphicsmeeting.org/2026/projects/

Projects - Libre Graphics Meeting 2026 – RE:wire, Nuremberg, Germany

It's a wrap. The last day of the @lgm featured more cool talks including the one about a @fragdenstaat clicker game made in @godot. Kudos to the local team in #Nuremberg. I feel rewired and inspired. See you at the #libregraphicsmeeting 2027 in #Linz!

It’s sad to leave #lgm26 because of all the fantastic people that were around and all the great projects that they work on!

But! There will be an #lgm27 in Linz. Hooray!

And: there will even be an #lgm49 (currently at an undisclosed location) with a nice line of workshops imagined by @tomsart
