First beach day of the season.
I felt guilty at first for not fighting today.
But I need these days if I'm going to continue fighting long term for the mass changes required in the world.
For the first time in weeks my mind was silent. I have rarely slept in the last three weeks and before that, it was pretty terrible too.
This relaxation day in nature, being nude, stripped of everything, with nothing but the sound of the ocean and other naked humans enjoying themselves, was exactly the void I needed to cleanse the senses and push forward on each of the five fronts I am passionate about (yes, there is much more I'm passionate about, but I only have so many spoons).
If you need a moment, take it. Getting burned out won't help anyone. Just make sure you come back to the fight. Every voice is needed.
Now, let's come together as a g*dd@mn community and get sh!t done!

I have had a few Jewish people go out of their way to advise me that Hamas would "hang my kind from the tallest tower" (one even sent a pretty pictogram highlighting how queer friendly the state of Israel is - they even have a Pride March!).
They then expected me to be OK with the mass killing of Palestinians and were vicious when I was not, stating if I'm not with them I am against them.
I need to make myself perfectly clear on this: I DO NOT support the mass murder of humans. Not in my name, not ever, nowhere on Earth.
To even approach me with this sentiment denies the existence (& subsequent killing) of queer and trans Palestinians. It denies the evidence that Netanyahu continues to make inflammatory statements about queer and trans people. It denies the fact that queer and trans people are beaten & killed in the state of Israel.
Does that mean I want to annihilate Israeli's? No. No more than I want to annihilate Palestinian's.
End the slaughter.
I know a lot is going on, what with the multiple genocides across the globe; the refusal to grant First Nations rights in so-called Australia; conversion therapy still a thing & being used on queers and trans people in NSW; accessability still not a priority for most businesses, etc etc, but I am doing a thing and that thing costs money.
I have been saving for two years for a new waterproof camera that will allow me to take on more work and be slightly less reliant on my disability pension, but because I believe in community unity, the strength of the LGBTQIA+SB family, and have a burning passion to reverse climate devastation, I'm putting those savings into my upcoming gala exhibition opening in January 2024 that celebrates all those things.
Please donate whatever you can spare. It's tax deductible if you're an Australian citizen. $2, $200, $2,000 🤣 absolutely anything. And please boost.
I have enough savings to pay for the gallery space for two weeks, and all print & exhibition materials, but I still need funds for access, Welcome to Country, paying the performers, snacks and beverages.

This adult/children's picture book by Irishman Oliver Jeffers "Begin Again" is a must read for anyone on the fence about the world, love, and/or humanity.
I was told it would resonate with me, and it absolutely did. The message is simple and very clearly written. There is a longer formal essay on the back if you want to delve deeper.

I once heard Deakin University Chair of Race Relations & ecological activist, Wakaya man Yin Paradies, say we need to go towards everyone, even our enemies, with love. That was too much for me at the time, but now it has sunk in. Do this whilst maintaining your safety and maybe that fascist you treated kindly will one day change their ways. Don't we owe it to ourselves and our planet to try?

Further to my post about the Australian Human Rights Commission receiving an FOI request; apparently the FOI has been withdrawn.
This is happy positive news for community well-being and safety. Remember, always keep safe mentally and physically, but never let the fascists get you down and silence you.
Very strange experience at the optometrist today. I think the middle-aged sales woman was flirting with me. I can't be sure. My ex was the last woman to hit on me and she broke up with me 12+ years ago. (well actually there was this one time a lesbian hit on me whilst I was heavily flirting with her friend - who has since been my partner for 4.5 years 😂)
I found it strange because I have been exclusively dating men since my ex. Women can be very subtle in their flirting and I had forgotten that and with my autism subtlety doesn't really work for me.
Also strange, was that I was wearing my very queer peach-coloured Freddie Mercury muscle tee that says "Yas Queen", my indigenous flag love heart badge, and the badge attached. I don't think I exactly screamed straight, or even bi...? 🤷🏼♂️
So, three days ago the Australian human rights commission released its preliminary response to the Lesbian Action Group's request for a 5 year exemption to the Sex Discrimination Act here in Naarm.
Thankfully their preliminary view is to decline the application.
Today the commission advised an FOI has been received for the information of all individual submissions (which were not released with the initial verdict). This release of information would include the name of the individual who lodged a response.
This is simply a witch hunt by LGB Alliance Australia et al to discover, harass and we all know what else, to individuals who oppose them.
This is terrifying.
