"The film is compellingly, playfully wayward, a documentary-leaning piece so sincere you might not entirely believe it to be a fictional construction until the credits roll." - we take a look at Mangosteen https://www.eyeforfilm.co.uk/review/mangosteen-2023-film-review-by-sunil-chauhan #film #experimental #ShortFilm #LFF2023

"While the end result is important, Hùng’s film is all about savouring the moment, something that becomes more urgent as it progresses - although talk of speed has little place in a film that unfolds with the pace and beauty of a flower." - we take a look at The Taste Of Things https://www.eyeforfilm.co.uk/review/the-taste-of-things-2023-film-review-by-amber-wilkinson #film #movies #food #71SSIFF #LFF2023 #CFF42 #NYFF61

Also went to see "Chicken Run 2" yesterday which was perfectly lovely and exactly what you might want from this particular sequel. And lots of the cast/crew were there which was pretty cool. To be in the same room as Nick Park - creator of Wallace and Gromit! #LFF #lff2023 #Film #Movies
Went to see a great doco last night at the London Film Festival - "Chasing Chasing Amy" by director Sav Rodgers which explores how much the film meant to him, but also is an amazing record of how the film was made, how controversial its themes and content is, about Weinstein and Kevin Smith's career, about Joey Lauren Adams. It's also an honest reflection of the filmmaker's personal journey and relationship. Director Sav Rodgers discusses Smith's and Joey Lauren Adams' interviews about working with each other and Harvey Weinstein, not centering his transition in the film and why he might never watch 'Chasing Amy' again.

A ★★★★½ review of Kensuke's Kingdom (2023)

So little has been done to promote or even merely mention this take on Michael Morpurgo's book (which I admit I've never read) but...well, I have this Thing. If you go to my Letterboxd profile's lists, you'll find a list I like to call the "Channel 4 Animated Stories Canon" (stay with me, this is relevant to this film, I swear). Essentially, since the network's very first Christmas in 1982, Channel 4 (UK) would sometimes commission these animated half-hour shorts based on children's books (a LOT of Raymond Briggs) and many of them - including of course the first and
